Located in Qidong of China’s Jiangsu province, Xuxing’s pig farm set China’s record for lowest capital investment on building and equipment. The site is built using four 4-story buildings occupying 65,333m² (16 acres): one for gestation, one farrowing, and two wean-to-finish buildings, each with four floors. The site houses 5,000 sows, producing from farrow to finish.
This is amongst China’s first farms to employ a dedicated biosecurity design encompassing 4 concentric zones, developed in collaboration with leading US advisors. This design includes a detached vehicle pressure wash station, unidirectional entry and exit protocols, separate living and operating quarters, and system-wide deodorization and waste treatment.
At 28.8 PSY performance, this Xuxing farm is heralded as amongst the most efficacious systems currently in China.
